Visiting the Tallest Minar of India FATEH BURJ ( The Victory Tower)
Minari/Minarets are one of India’s trademark architecture and can be typically found adjacent to mosques. Rajasthan has so many of these beautiful structures, and the tallest minar in India is fortunately just few meters away from our home here in SAS Nagar, Punjab.
It is situated in the historical Chappar Chiri village ,along Kharar-Banur Road, which is now officially named Banda Singh Bahadur Road. This is to honor of one of the most respected Sikh warriors who won a decisive battle against the Wazir Khan. ( Commander of Mughal Army).

When did this happen?
Well, ofcourse, way before I was planning to take a photo here!
It was in 1710 when the battle occured. The issue? Not because of a very beautiful woman, or fighting over who has the roundest chapati, but it was because Wazir Khan was planning to stop the march of the Sikh Army led by BSB to Sirhind. This is a very special place in Sikh history and as a reminder of how Sikh warriors fought for their belief. And as a wife of a Sikh, it is a very heartwarming to have the opportunity to step my feet on this remarkable place.
Just a brief information and some photos we took in this beautiful historical minari. The best part? NO ENTRY FEE!! Yes, it is FREE.
What’s inside?
Well, it is for you to find out, anyhow, it is free right? Just kidding, you can spend quality with family and friends, since inside is a beautiful, clean garden , some photos with explanation during the battle, statue of BSB and a great way of learning the Sikh origin.
